Do You Need Managed IT?

team discussing managed IT services from CPC technologies

For many businesses today, the decision whether to keep IT in-house or add a managed service provider is a no-brainer: they simply cannot keep up with the challenges of ever-changing technology, so they must have a trusted partner. Others are on the fence: they are just not sure whether Managed IT is worth the added cost. For those in the latter category, we'd love to help you start the conversation, especially if you see consistent issues with your IT staff's ability to keep up with tech changes or issues. Here are a few key questions to get you started.

Can your staff handle it?

While this seems like a simple yes or no question, the truth is it's a bit more complex in many instances. Your reaction might be, yes, they're doing just fine. But, if you are experiencing consistent outages, overworked technicians, or roadblocks, you might reconsider. The other issue in this question has to do with the size of your staff. That is, do you have enough dedicated IT staff to manage your network, equipment, and security? Or, do you have a dedicated IT staff, period? If the answer to these questions is NO, then managed IT is definitely for you.

Is your staff specialized?

No matter who is handling your IT needs, you have to ask yourself about their specialization. We ask a lot of our IT staff, and often times they simply don't have all the specializations needed. They can only do so much, after all. They likely know the ins and outs of your specific business, but they probably don't know everything about everything. Managed IT can cover the gaps and bring specialization, proactive support, and uninterrupted services.

What are your plans for growth?

This question can be especially important, as many businesses haven't even had a chance to think about growth because they are just focusing on keeping everything running. Planning for growth is important, and Managed IT can help you ensure your network and technology is in prime condition for your future plans -- or, to start making plans for the future.
